Hi Folks! I have a photographer I want to share with yall today. :) His name is David Shama, previous Medicine student turned into photographer and as you can see I'm glad he did. I'm a fan of naturalism/realism and he too believes that images don't have to be obviously narrative or stylised. It's a good treat to leave some to observer's imagination. :)

The simplicity of his work seem to make your mind wonder and is very attractive in this way. I'm loving his use of big spaces in his composition, it's so peaceful to the eye. :)

I'm loving her style and also looking forward to her music.
She's 21 and I think she's at a perfect age to dip into music business, not too young and sensible enough. Her band's name is called 'VIOLET' and apparently two of her band members also perform for Florence and the Machines.

It's gotta be good...

This is a tribute to Alexander Wang, our hero. I haven't baked cookies in like million years so it was a random surprise when my punk friend Amy came to my place with a cookie mix. We thought it will be funny to make Alexander Wang cookies because it's such a discord and also the fact how our conversation always end up with Mr Wang.
It didn't end up that well but my son Happy was bat crazy over them! :P

I'm wearing vintage dress and sunnies from Something Else. Yea, I don't wear sunnies when I cook but I had to put something on to hide my dark circles and other billion things.

There's this Cafe near where I live. I've been going there for years and it's because I find my inner peace in their waffles. haha Just divine... I took my brother there few weeks ago and got him to take some shots for me. It's a lil blowing out but I don't mind the dreamy haze because that's what I'm like most of the time and it's making my skin look better. :)

I'm wearing a vintage dress, so beautiful I had to nag my sister to get it for me for Christmas and I think Agyness Deyn would like it too. The Jacket's Wrangler from my friend and the shoes are vintage too, it's my hobo rock boots. The sunnies are of course from OPSM, I've been wearing them so much! I think it kinda gives me Andy Warhol look which I giggle about every now and then. :D

WHAT IS STYLE?

What is Style? I ask myself because I'm often confused. People say they have style and she has style but can we ever define what style is? Some says it's individualism and how we identify ourselves but can we really name ourselves as originals when we are constantly borrowing, copying and inspired by others?

I sometimes feel like a chameleon changing my looks everyday inspired by millions of things out there. I mix things up without reason and if it looks pleasing to MY eyes BAM there you have it I guess that's my style. Well, that's exactly what I've done here, mix things up, some random, some more meaningful, when I think it's enough yea, I think I'm happy with what I'm wearing today. :)

The shirt I'm wearing is $30 I picked up from Temt 2 years back. I thought it was a nice basic shirt dress, light cotton that felt good and a bit interesting with classic pin-tuck details on the front. It's been crushed in my wardrobe but I didn't want to iron it because that's not me. I thought this shirt looked better on me when it's crushed because I don't like things to be sterile perfect.

The legging is from Therese Rawthorne I got from a sale last year. I thought the musky colour was beautiful and it reminded me of Charlotte Ronson's 'Off duty dancer' look from her SS2010 runway.

Now the shirt dress and the leggings alone looked way to sweet for me so I had to add a bit of grunge with my heavy gun metal chains teamed with my Chanel necklace. I love Chanel, I have huge respect for the brand and heritage. The vintage clip on earrings made the look more interesting and I'm a big fan of vintage so I can say it has become my second nature to have at least one vintage reference in my looks.
The brogues are from B-store and I thought it tamed everything down from being too much...

When I looked at the photos afterwards, it also reminded me of Edie Sedgwick... Who I absolutely adore. haha Well, that's what I thought anyway.

I was listening to James Blake when I was shooting these shots and wanted to add quiet, stillness to the images with loads of white spaces.

Well, this is the story of this look. Hope you like it. :)

I got this beeeeautiful shirt from The Collective Ensemble in Newtown. I've been always krazy about collars and this shirt has the most pretty collar! :)

The sequin shorts are from Fleurwood, one of my summer favourite. Surprisingly it goes with a lot of things.

The flats are my chloe, they are NOT vintage but they looks so. You can see how great care I take of my things. hehe.

The necklace is from from Eric Et Lydie, some underground french label from Belinda store. It's a piece I seem to appreciate more and more as time goes by. You know, like yourself. :P

The last earring is my new addition from Korea, my sis got it for me from her trip. I thought it could be too young for my age turning billion years old next year but I WILL still wear them and act younger.

This is my new place by the way! It's still unfinished as you can obviously see, but it's getting there and well... so is Christmas. Wish me luck!

I was lucky to find some coolest clothing and accessories last week for both boys and girls. :) I'm a big fan of Dandy/Mod style on guys and I'm absolutely adoring these accessories from DR DENIM in beautifully low-toned but rich colours. Also check out GRAM shoes, they are yet the coolest shoes for guys I've seen in a while!! Definitely considering one for my fiance. :) ( I'm so lucky to have someone who embraces everything I get him to wear. Meanwhile also dealing with me teasing him that he look gay. Hang on, it's a compliment!)

I was also ecstatic to be introduced to Sarah and Sebastian Jewellery before it hits the stores as I'm in LOVE. I really really want that Ring with chains. The designer was apparently inspired by movement of jellyfish in placid waters. Oh also girls, make sure you check out the latest ladies range from DR DENIM from your nearest General Pants coz they are divine! I love the ballerina inspiration in this collection and ingenious, they managed to give it a bit of edge with beautifully simple cuts and tailoring. :)

This is a collaborative shoot I did with Jess few months ago now... Didn't get a chance to upload it as I tots forgot about it and since it's been on Jess's site. :)

We were going for something very still and quiet and I think we did achieve that. This stunning girl in our shoot, Lauren, I'm so glad that I picked her up on the street. haha She was lining for ANTM.

ANTO AND CASIO'S UNDER THE SEA

Welcome to Casio and Anto's creative space!
When I first bumped into this super duo (on the street), they simply took my breathe away but being invited into their creative work zone is another whole new world. Ahhh colour ecstasy...
Now, I don't need to put any word on it as I hope my pictures will do more justice in delivering what I experienced directly to you. :)

As for me, colour always transcend me to somewhere happier and my knees go weak. I felt very drunk with colour when I was taking these shots and just wanted to collapse and bury myself with Anto and Casio's colourful collections. :) Anto actually wrapped one of her crochet piece around my neck (as you can see in one of my photos) and I felt happy as a kid! haha

Well, Anto and Casio is what I consider 'true artists', always embodying what they believe in and also sharing them with the world in many different forms. Not to mention their immaculate appearance carefully assembled each time, they also perform as DJs in various clubs, create most of their costumes and also paint!
Anto was kind enough to show me some of her favourite pieces in her wardrobe, mostly vintage in most beeeautiful colours and patterns. I wanted them all...
I was also very taken away by Casio's crochet pieces (that he makes himself), the texture, colour and forms reminded me of little adorable monsters that could appear in 'The Little Mermaid'. Just amazing...

Anyway, I better not go on forever and will let you enjoy their work rather than reading my yaddi yadda..

Sorry folks!
I've been away for a while. :) I don't like giving excuses but I've been busy popping here and there, sorting out paperworks for my first property(wahoo!) getting ideas for my place, retouching, oh yea I had to go and visit Mr Klimt on his visit to Melbourne then got terribly sick. behehe
So lots of exciting things to come so stay tuned!! (lot of colours involved!!)

Anyway, these beautiful interiors are from my dear friend Tim's parent's holiday house that we all crashed few weeks back for his farewell to UK.(He's going there for a year lucking thing!)

The crystal pendant that took my heart away is handcrafted for me by Tancredi Jewellers in Sydney. I was so happy with it I screamed!!! :)

Aung tells me he likes to tell stories with his collections. Well, I think he does more than that, he seems more like a magician!

I was so transcended by these beautiful prints that I'm sure my heart skipped a beat. And I do get this physical reaction every now and then when I see something that I really like. haha

Aung is from Burma, and as he grew up watching his elders mix colours and make traditional costumes, he tells me he was always inspired by them and their making of beauty.

He came to Australia in 2002, and was soon discovered by Akira Isogawa and Longina Phillips where he gained more insight of the industry.

He is on his own journey to sow this dream now and these BEAUTIFUL, not to be missed FLORA JARGON collection will be available at exclusive boutiques. :)

I was so devastated by the death of Amy Winehouse... She had voice like no other and especially for big fans of Soul and Jazz like me, she will be truly missed.
I found this Amy Winehouse edition of Fred Perry Cardy and I HAD to get it! The embroidery of Amy is so beautiful and it somehow reminds me of Freda Kahlo's paintings as well. :)

I love giving meanings to my clothes and this Cardy reminds me two of my favourite artists who inspire me. LOVE!

Her works are pretty out of this world and I love how she works for various creative industry; such as Art, Fashion, Music and also Still Life. The best thing about her photography is that her images are all somehow emotionally shifting and she seems to be able to find Art in everything she sees. When I first saw those pugs I shrieked!!
I'm loving the mix of different textures and rich colours in this campaign. It makes you feel as if you can almost touch the bags and coats! YUM!

It's also very classic with prestige vintage elements but quite young and fresh with raindrops and fresh faces.
Loving the Asian model in this campaign; Sun Fei Fei. Beautiful!

Amy's a big fan of Kate Moss. We were bumming around flipping through mags and photography books and I found this legendary pic of Kate Moss sporting out gumboots in 2005.

So this was our little tribute to Kate Moss's gumboots moment and of course amped it up with a bit of colour.
Our craziness turned out pretty rad. :)

Hyung Koo Kang is my favourite artist at the moment...
I can't say I'm into photorealism art usually but his works really shifted me even though my mere computer screen. :)
I mean, check it out, it's freaking amazing! Lashes by lashes and hair by hair and the tiniest wrinkle you can possibly observe on a person's face are decribed so carefully in his works. In the contemporary art scene where idea seems to be cherished more than the effort injected into artworks, his labour intensive works offered both sense of seriousness and modernism. (if I make many sense)

Another amazing aspect which made me crazy about his works is the fact all these individuals portrayed in his paintings do not exist but imagined from the artist...

Have you ever imagined what Marylin Monroe could have looked like in her 40s? Or how Van Gogh would have smoked when working on his paintings?

I was SO delighted to have walked into this charming vintage store in Surry Hills today! What enthralled me was this bright red vintage phone near the entrance but ended up spending good 20 mins going through these beeeautiful vintage horoscope pendants!

I decided to get one for myself, my sis and my flatmate. It was only $5 and I think it's pretty damn good for 925 Silver pendants. :) Not to mention the vintage charm that came with them. hehehe
Oh, also check out the little original price tags, I thought it was the cutest thing.

Then I checked out Undergroup Showroom Sample Sale in Paddington and found a pair for myself and my fiance. Just loooooooooove the colour and style! Now this is my second B Store shoes! I was wishing to score a 'Opening Ceremony' pair this time but oh well, I'm very happy with these!

It was a pleasant surprise when I was asked to assist for Chris Sorbello’s Ministry of Sound Photoshoot! Thanks Jana. ♥♥♥ It was my very first styling experience and I do feel that I’ve learnt a lot! Trading in my backpain and all when I finished today. haha Chris was such a honey and everyone was great! Jana brought some fab stuff that seemed so eccentric and edgy! Hopefully I did ok today- I’m so used to running the photoshoot and giving directions – it was a bit awkward trying to be at my place as a styling assistant. I just wanted to be careful not to intervene anyone’s roles… or more like seeming like I’m running the shoot. haha. It was such a good experience overall and I feel you do learn a lot just observing and really trying other people’s shoes.

Oh! I had a great talk with Elvis Di Fazio the photographer. He was quite an inspiration! He just had such a clear idea of what he wanted and it all worked out great! Also he seems like such a vivid visual mind. Looking at his portfolio, he seems to get the every element right for the final outcome of the image. Yet still, the most amazing thing is that he’s been only doing photography for less than 2 years.

This is one masterpeice by Shiro Kuramata and Ettore Sottsass, who spoke different tongues but shared the same vision. The design of this chair was inspired by Native American Indian 'Kachina' dolls that symbolized supernatural spirits. How uplifting! It's playful nature seem to whisper joy and mystery.
